The forerunner of Emprima was created by Neil Pountney in 1998 after a career culminating as managing partner of a medium sized construction consultancy.

He had identified a need to create an organisation specifically for those intending to create projects, involving the procurement of construction, to have a complete range of highly experienced talent available from throughout the industry and the professions to guide and represent them.
